CHLA Postdocs Take on ARVO 2025 in Salt Lake City!

CHLA Postdocs Represent at ARVO 2025 in Salt Lake City!

Spring conference season wrapped up with a bang—and we’re excited to share that two of our amazing postdoctoral researchers from Dr. Aaron Nagiel’s lab in the Department of Ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles attended ARVO 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah!

For those unfamiliar, ARVO (The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) hosts the world’s largest gathering of eye and vision researchers. Each year, thousands of clinicians and scientists come together to share cutting-edge discoveries, foster collaboration, and push the boundaries of vision science.

Among the highlights: Dr. Leila Bahmani was selected as a recipient of the ARVO Foundation / Retina Research Foundation / Joseph M. and Eula C. Lawrence Travel Grant. 🎉 This highly competitive award supports scientists working in retinal research by funding their travel to present at ARVO.

Both postdocs presented exciting work from the Nagiel Lab, contributing to the global conversation on advancing pediatric retinal care.

We’re proud of our team for representing CHLA on the international stage—and we can’t wait to see what they do next.
